Valentin Saïbi

Valentin Saïbi graduated in 2019 from the École nationale supérieure de chimie de Rennes (ENSCR - Rennes School of Chemistry, France) and is currently completing his doctoral degree at the Institute for Solid State Chemistry Bordeaux (ICMCB - France). He works in the field of energy storage and electrochemical conversion on positive electrode materials for Li-ion battery applications.

Why did you choose to take part in this summer school?

A summer school dedicated to advanced materials was an ideal opportunity to further my knowledge on the latest scientific improvements in this field, either directly related to Li-ion technology or other renewable energy sources. The international perspective provided by this online program was also a major bonus, as it not only allowed participants to learn from renowned disciplinary experts, but also to interact with students from all around the globe.

 What did you learn from this experience?

I very much appreciated the icebreaker session and the virtual escape game as funny moments to connect with people. The capstone brainstorming sessions and roundtables were also great times to share ideas and experience with the participants and experts present. Overall, it was an intensive yet insightful week, with numerous informative and inspiring lectures, hopefully leading to new future collaborations!
