Jacques Huot

From 1995 to 2004, Jacques HUOT was a researcher at Hydro-Québec, where he studied magnesium-based nanocrystalline alloys for hydrogen storage. Since 2004, he is a professor at UQTR and member of the Hydrogen Research Institute.

His expertise covers the fields of solid-gas interactions, metal hydrides, and material characterization. In the past, he has been an invited researcher at the Institute for Energy Technology (Norway), the Federal University of São Carlos (Brazil), the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (Japan), the University of Bordeaux (France), the Institut Néel (France), the Max Plank Institut fur Kohlenforschung and the Helmut-Schmidt University (Germany).

Prof. Huot has published 195 papers and is co-inventor of 10 patents. In 2018, he received the prize of achievement in research from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres. According to Mendely Data, he features within the top 0.5% of the most cited scientists worldwide in the field of materials (ranking 877 out of 177,931).
